GoAir doubles its plane order size from Airbus to 144

GoAir (G8, Mumbai Int’l) has inked a firm order contract with Airbus Industrie (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) for seventy-two (72) A320neo. A memorandum of understanding was signed at the Farnborough International Airshow previous year. “After the agreement reached on December 30 2016, GoAir has doubled its order book for the aircraft type to 144”. It now operates a fleet of 23 planes, controlling about 8% of the domestic market.Including this commitment, ACG and its subsidiaries have ordered a total of 158 A320 Family aircraft directly from Airbus, consisting of 61 A320neo Family and 97 A320ceo Family aircraft. The airline plans to start its global flight operations this year. Other late deals could include sign-off on a 72-plane transaction with India’s GoAir, according to Reuters, which also reported the Flynas negotiations earlier, while saying the deal will be limited to 60 planes. The Neos will have seat configuration which will allow it to accommodate 186 passengers.The A320neo Family incorporates the very latest technologies including new generation engines and Sharklets, which together deliver more than 15 percent fuel savings from day one and 20 percent by 2020.
