$1 million Powerball ticket sold in Somerset

Prizes must be claimed and winning tickets validated before winners can be identified.The ticket was sold in Madison for the August 6 Powerball drawing. The drawing is at 7:29 p.m. Deadline is 7:08 p.m. Players should check every ticket, every time. Last Friday night a ticketholder in California won a $188 million jackpot, which reset the jackpot to $15 million for Tuesday night.That means the drawing on Saturday, Feb. 4 will be worth at least $229 million with a cash option of $138.3 million. It’s roughly a 11,688,053 to 1 shot to match five numbers but not the Powerball.The winning numbers on that ticket were 16-17-19-22-43-44. That was the largest prize won in the state.Wisconsin Lottery spokesman Casey Langan says if the winnings go unclaimed they will be dispersed statewide in the form of property tax relief.Players must be 18 or older.
